Birdwatching Trip to Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest in conjunction with Global Big Day 2019, 4th

Want to be part of birders worldwide to birdwatch on the same day? Then come and join Selangor Branch Bird Group for a morning of birdwatching at Sg.Congkak Recreational Forest which is situated in the Hulu Langat Forest Reserve. This activity will be held in conjunction with Global Big Day, held every first week of May. In 2018, more than 30,000 around the world took part with over 7,000 species recorded in a day. So, wait no more and be a part of this event this year!

The event is also suitable for children as birding will be done along the tarred / gravel road inside the park. Entrance fee for adults and children above 12 years is RM1.00. The habitat consists of hill dipterocarps / disturbed secondary forest. The journey from KL will take approximately 45 minutes. From Cheras-Kajang Expressway, after passing Batu 9 Toll Plaza, take the 1st left turning. Follow this road straight till the junction to Sungai Congkak, there will be another 2 km drive until the end of the road where the car park is located.

Come dressed in suitable clothing (preferably long sleeves and pants in dull colour) and hat as well as comfortable shoes. Please bring along binoculars, drinking water, light snacks, sun block, umbrella/poncho and mosquito repellent. The event shall end at noon.
