Come and join us for a half day trip in Kampung Sungai Serdang, Kapar, Selangor to observe shore birds. This trip is slightly unique as our past trips were mostly in forested areas. The birds are also known as waders as they wade in mudflats along the coastal areas and shorelines to forage for food. Among the species found are the egrets, herons, sandpipers, plovers, curlews, whimbrels…. just to name a few. At the adjacent site, there are the Cinereous Tit, Collared Kingfisher and other mangrove dwellers.
As the site is an open area (beside the coast), you are strongly recommended to be dressed to protect yourself from the weather besides packing drinking water and snacks. Kindly bring along your binoculars if you have a pair, but fret not if you don’t as there will be scopes set up to observe the birds. The event shall end at noon.
This activity is open to MNS members, but non-members can also join by paying a minimal sum of RM5.00 per adult.
Pre-registration is compulsory. For further details, please text Mr. Low Kok Hen at 012-3807775 or Ms. Veronica Khoo at 016-4775737.
The warung opposite the meeting point opens at 7am. You can support the locals by having breakfast here.
