Come and join Selangor Branch Bird Group for a morning of bird watching at Gunung Nuang which is situated in the Hulu Langat Forest Reserve. The habitat consists of hill dipterocarps and some of the birds that could be found here include the Broadbills, Spiderhunters, Flowerpeckers, Bulbuls......and many more. This event is suitable for children as birding will be done along the gravel and dirt road. Entrance fee for adults is RM1.00 and half price for children below 12 years. The journey from KL takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. From Cheras-Kajang Expressway, after passing Batu 9 Toll Plaza, take the 1st left turning. Follow this road straight till you reach a traffic light with a Police Station on the right, take a left turn into Jalan Hulu Langat. Go straight along this road until you reach a mosque (Masjid Sultan Hishamuddin Alam Shah, Batu 14), then continue straight for about 15km to the car park. Another option for those coming from KL is to use the trunk road B62 (Jln Ampang-Hulu Langat) This road will also take you to the mosque junction. At the junction, turn left towards Pangsun. Come dressed in dull-coloured clothing (preferably long sleeves and pants) and hat as well as comfortable shoes. Please bring along binoculars, drinking water, light snacks, sun block, umbrella and mosquito repellent. The event shall end at noon. This activity is open to MNS members.
