The Live Recording of Indoor Talk Shorebird Peninsular Malaysia Project

On 26th October, Dr Munira (PhD in Wildlife Management and Ecology) had kindly come all the way from Kedah to share with us about her interesting project, Shorebird Peninsular Malaysia Project. She is the chief coordinator of this community-driven project that aims to protect and conserve the Kuala Muda-Teluk Air Tawar Important Birds Areas (IBA), an important stopover site for thousands of migratory shorebirds. These birds are attracted to the abundance of food source on the exposed mudflats of this area. This site also houses the longest continuous mangrove forest in Malaysia peninsular. Unfortunately, it is under threat of fragmentation by aquaculture practices. Please support their project by checking their Facebook page Shorebirds Peninsular Malaysia Project
